Apple just got bigger and better in 2017- The 12.9 Inches iPad Pro
Everything you need to know about the new 12.9 inches iPad Pro, launched by Apple. I have reviewed, tried and tested to bring you everything about the new iPad Pro. Read on to know what always wanted to know about Apple’s latest innovation.
The 12.9 inch iPad came just right in the time when we were expecting something different from the ever innovative and surprising Apple. Back when Apple launched the first Generation 9.7 inch iPad, many were already looking forward to upgrading their older versioned iPad.
So, whether you are looking for an iPad where you can smoothly do all your daily work or looking forward to upgrading your iPad, you are reading the right page. Here is my impression, after having some experience for a while with this bigger, better version of any of my previously owned iPads.
Design –
The first thought that you may get when you hold this 2nd Generation iPad is that, “this guy is a little bigger than what I expected.” But worry not for this seemingly big fellow is quite unexpected. And why wouldn’t it be? The design is made by Apple.The12.9 inch iPad Pro is just of the right weight and that resolves most of the issues right there. It will adjust right in your hand without making you feel too concerned about the size, for the sleek designing and the 1.53 lbs. lightweight adapts itself into your hand within a short time span, making you get used to it pretty quickly.
The weight of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro is lighter than the smaller debut version- 9.7 inch iPad. This makes it not just a bigger version of the 9.7 inch iPad, but also better.
If you have used any of the apple products before like the Apple iPhones or the iPad too, then it will be easier for them to feel acquainted with this iPad as it has the same home button at the base of the iPad Pro.
If you look further, then you will find the iPad Pro is a really elegant looking iPad. The display of this big beauty is fully laminated. The display has just the perfect oleophobic coating that is what people like me really want-who do most of their work through their devices.
There are four integrated speakers and the quality of sound is mind-blowing.
In a quick summary:
-
- Smart connector for the smart keyboard.
- Slow motion: 120 fps at 1080p, 240 fps at 720p, and 4K at 30 fps
-
- Power button and volume button at the top corner
- Lighting connector at the base.
- Great sound quality
Display –
The Killer Aspect— True tone Display
You wouldn’t have expected anything to better the display in the 12.9 inch display with an already excellent range of colors. But hey, this is Apple we’re talking about! This big guy has the True Tone Display feature that we initially saw in the 1st Generation 9.7 inch iPad. Combined with a resolution of 2,732 x 2,048, it has delivered some of its stunning performances on that big and lovely screen, especially when I decided to watch some movies on it.
Getting along with the true tone
Truetone is a bonus feature whether you are a photographer or not, by profession or by passion. But the benefit of the true tone depends on the event when you are using it really, and also the place where you are trying to use it. It is turned o by default feature and has to be turned off whenever not needed.
Switching off the true tone function is really easy as is turning it back on. To turn it off just:
Launch Settings App -> Choose Display & Brightness -> Turn the “Night Shift” on for the True Tone option.
Camera-
Sporting a fabulous 12 MP rear camera, the iPad Pro 12.9 inch delivers a stunning performance and that would definitely be been that which I’d opt for, had I been a photographer and needed all-in-one device.
Let’s take a short view of the display and Camera of the 12.9 inch Apple iPad –
- Wide Color Display
- 12 MP rear camera and 7 MP front camera
- True Tone Display- Makes the graphics transition easy flowing and also realistic
- 12.9 inch of a large display– need I say more?
Battery-
The battery is just what I was expecting it to be like. If you have a lot on your plate and like to multitask balancing your daily work with surfing the internet for some time, then the Apple 12.9 inch iPad is going to be your partner in crime. You can continue with your usual browsing, editing videos or pictures, youtube, watching movies or doing whatever you like and be carefree about the battery life. Though Apple says it goes straight up to 10 hours but for me, it went to straight two days of heavy usage… finally needing a charge on the third.
This is one of the reasons why it is so sought after. Nobody wants to be switching from one device to another or do one thing at a time. This big buddy has never interrupted my smooth work on it and I personally, switch a lot from one app to another.
The “Pro” Factor”-
Now it may sound like it is just a bigger version of iPad 9.7 inch or an improved version of any of the older versions. But this is not the case. The stand out factor makes this one a true Pro iPad. The iPad has improved internally with Apple’s own mobile processor. The A10X is faster than the A9X by around 30 times more speed.
Not only has this fusion chip made the overall experience faster but also made heavier tasks seem extremely easy.
Disliking Factor:
Till date, I haven’t come across something that would make me dislike this iPad. But, the user interface really depends on what you expect to do with this product.
